Rector

The Revd. Canon Ed den Blaauwen SSC

Father Ed was appointed as Rector of Christ Church, Moline in January of 2006 and moved to the Quad Cities from Macomb where he served as Rector of St George's Parish Church for nearly five and a half years.

He serves as Rector of the Parish and has served as a member of the Diocesan Council and Standing Committee, served as Canon Liturgist and Canon Missioner in the diocese.  He is the Diocesan Canon Musician and Diocesan Choir Coordinator. He is a long standing member of the Society of the Holy Cross (SSC) and has served as Executive Administrator for Forward in Faith North America. In December of 2018 he celebrated 35 years as a Priest in the Anglican Communion. He continues to work tirelessly for the rebuilding of the church of God into a deeply spiritual, scripturally faithful and orthodox body of believers.

Born in South Africa in 1956 of Dutch parents who moved there from Holland after WWII and settled in Johannesburg, he obtained a B.A degree in Theology from Rhodes University, Grahamstown, served two years in the armed forces and then entered St Paul's Theological College for priestly formation over the next two years. While a priest in the Church of the Province of Southern Africa Fr Ed served in numerous parishes during a period of eighteen years gaining much insight into the differing cultures of his native land. He came to the Diocese of Quincy in 2000.

Fr. Ed and Julia were married just prior to entering St Paul's College and have recently celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary. They have two daughters, Tracy who is married to Brent Ver Mulm and blessed them with three grandchildren, Mia, Natalie and Aidan; and Megan who is married to Brad Gayer and blessed them with their youngest grandson, Silas.


Curate

THE REVEREND MICHAEL LINDSTEDT

Fr. Michael began his role as Curate at Christ Church in September 2023 upon completing his seminary studies and being ordained to the priesthood. He joined the Diocese of Quincy in early 2023, having completed a pastoral internship at Christ Church the previous summer.

Prior to seminary, Fr. Michael worked in various ministry and education contexts. This included serving as the Hospitality Supervisor at a Christian retreat center on the Central Coast of California and as the 6th grade teacher at a classical Christian school. During his time in California, Fr. Michael discovered the Anglican tradition and served in various capacities at Redeemer Anglican Church in Santa Cruz.

There, he met his wife Tiffany, and they were married in 2016. Fr. Michael is a graduate of Wheaton College (B.A., 2011) and Nashotah House Theological Seminary (M.Div., 2023).
